Red Hill School Revisited

Red Hill Revisited
2020 was not exactly what we planned this year, but we thought we would share an update a year on from our visit to Red Hill School. Here is Charlotte Castle, the principal of the school, to tell you in her own words how a Start Sport New Zealand day has helped them following the team's visit with Seven Sharp.
"Ki ora,
It was fantastic to see our students on tellie. They were so excited to see the results too. We have looked at the results with the kids and are about to share with the parent group in the next week. We would like to share as a group so that our parents can read alongside us what the results show. The results have also assisted us in preparing for 2020 and the alternative sporting opportunities we need to provide for our students. We have put in a request for focus sporting codes which have come out as potential opportunities (and in our view our missed opportunities for students.)There are a few other sporting codes that we will look into as well - racket sports, water sports, etcThank you so much for testing our students and the information you have been able to provide us and our students - truly valuable and have assisted us to make informed decisions for our school. We were able to use the information to shape an inschool programme to continue the momentum for our students - which has strengthened the content knowledge of my staff alongside the students.
Nga mihi nuiCharlotte"
Feedback like this is why we fund programs into schools that focus on providing sports science data to help them in various ways. We are delighted it allowed them to make informed decisions about starting new sports and was even used as part of a successful application for swimming funding. Keep up the amazing work Red Hill we hope to see you and the team again soon.
